SOUNDkitchen can’t wait to return to the Hare & Hounds for the third event in our series, this time in collaboration with fellow promoters Balkanic Eruption.
Opening the night will be a set from Klezmer violinist Fouad Ibrahim and percussionist Zirak Hamad who will have their sounds twisted and transformed by laptop performers Shelly Knotts and Chris Tarren.
BiLE’s (Birmingham Laptop Ensemble) premiere performance brings together 6 electronic composers with visuals from glitch artist Antonio Roberts.
Garfield Benjamin will perform a live laptop set pushing sound to it’s extremes and Costis Kontos will be creating a unique mix of electroacoustic, electronica and Balkan music.
The evening will end with DJ Seb Merrick who will offer us a risky mix of turbofolk toons and Balkan floor fillers, oddly-danceable field recordings, bombtastic brass and scintillating cimbaloms, wandering aimlessly from Albania to Zagreb, with a dash of electroacoustic seasoning.
