Ben Ramsay graduated from Middlesex University, London, with a BA (Hons) in Sonic Arts in 2001, and is now a Creative Music Technology lecturer at Staffordshire University in the West Midlands, UK. He is currently studying for a PhD in Electroacoustic composition at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK, under the supervision of Prof. Simon Emmerson. In addition to his PhD related musical output, Ben also composes music with more ‘playful’ goals in mind such as his most recent solo project ‘Ninestein’.

At SOUNDkitchen, Ben will be cooking up a sumptuous live set and will be using object tracking and multitouch technology to manipulate and control fair trade field recordings and other pre-recorded sounds. The set will combine seasoned elements of acousmatic music, ambient IDM, GM-free synthetic ingredients and organic produce which will be blended live to create a rich and tasty mix of music.
