SONICpicnic Evening Line Up

SOUNDkitchen have lots of sonic treats for you to devour at our upcoming SONICpicnic event on the 29th July at VIVID. From 6pm we’ll be welcoming back some old friends and spicing things up a little with some new special guests.

Here are some tasters..

Martin Clarke returns to kick off the evening with a screening of his work ‘Voyager’ (2006); a long form audio visual work in three parts which explores slow and abrupt changes in perspective. It was realised at the University of Birmingham studios with help from Jonty Harrison, Steven Davies and Alicja Rogalska. The piece includes sound recorded in Shetland, Birmingham and Wszerzecz (Poland) and video recorded in Shetland (Sandwick, Hillswick, Eshaness) and Wszerzecz between August 2005 and March 2006.

We’re also looking forward to an exciting new collaboration from two of the SOUNDkitchen team, Annie Mahtani and Julien Guillamat. Following a brief residency in the south of France they will be sharing the sundrenched fruits of their labour in a live laptop duo performance.
