Friday 12 June sees the start of our Series 2015 when we’ll be back at VIVID Projects in Digbeth. Advance tickets are on sale already and please note the earlier start time of 6.00pm. This is because the gig is a warm up to the fantastic Supersonic Festival which kicks off later that evening. Diatribes are a Geneva based duo comprising Cyril Bondi and d’incise. They perform percussion, found objects and live electronics. Their work is an exploration of simplification and rational rituality, formed by strict sonic or structural principles. Typically their music features highly detailed textures, repeated gestures, soft tones, febrile pulses and acoustic hyper-sensibility.
The duo is currently presenting two new pieces based on the deconstruction of old Jamaican dub tunes, in an attempt to reinterpret this musical heritage and some of its trade marks in an very conceptual, electroacoustic and minimalist way.
They have recently released ‘A New Castle’ on Caduc, ‘Great stone/Blood dunza’ on Aussenraum Records and Bandcamp and ‘Augustus’ on their own INSUB.records.
